The Platform offers three account types: Guard (free), Company (pay-per-use), and Client (created by companies). Each has different capabilities as described in these terms.
4. Guard Account Terms
- Guard accounts are free and will remain free.
- You must only register SIA licences that are legally held by you.
- You confirm that the information you provide, including licence numbers and expiry dates, is accurate.
- You understand that your public profile may be visible to search engines and third parties if you enable public visibility.
- You may regenerate your share code at any time. Previous share codes become invalid for new requests.
- Registering a false or another person's SIA licence is a breach of these terms and may be reported to the SIA.
5. Company Account Terms
- Company accounts are free to register. Charges apply for licence checks (£0.20 per check) and optional client portal subscriptions.
- You confirm that your company information, including Companies House number and ACS accreditation status, is accurate.
- The compliance declaration is self-declared. You accept full legal responsibility for the accuracy of any declaration you sign on the Platform.
- Licence check results are provided for informational purposes. You remain responsible for your own compliance obligations.
- You must not use the Platform to check licences for any purpose other than legitimate workforce compliance verification.
6. Client Portal Terms
- Client portal accounts are created by security companies on behalf of their clients.
- Client accounts are read-only and cannot modify any data on the Platform.
- Access to client portals may be revoked by the security company at any time.

- All prices are inclusive of VAT where applicable.
8. Data Accuracy & Disclaimer
⚠️ GuardRegister.uk does not guarantee the real-time accuracy of any licence status or compliance information displayed on the Platform. Licence check results reflect the status at the time of the check. Always verify directly with the SIA at services.sia.homeoffice.gov.uk for the most current information.
Compliance declarations and vetting checklists are self-declared by security companies. We do not independently audit or verify these declarations.
9. SIA Licence Verification
Licence verification is performed via the SIAChecker.co.uk API which queries the SIA public register. Results are cached for up to 24 hours. A cached result may not reflect a licence that has been revoked or expired in the past 24 hours.
GuardRegister.uk is not responsible for errors or delays in third-party API responses.
10. Acceptable Use
You must not use the Platform to:
- Register false, fabricated or another person's SIA licence details
- Scrape, harvest or bulk-download data from the Platform
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account or system
- Use automated tools to circumvent rate limits
- Submit spam, misleading or abusive content
- Engage in any activity that violates UK law
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GuardRegister.uk shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to compliance failures, employment decisions made in reliance on Platform data, or losses arising from licence check inaccuracies.
Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
12. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that breaches these terms, without notice. You may close your account at any time by contacting us. Unused credits are non-refundable on voluntary termination.
13. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
